Scope of application
-
Waterproofing of roofs, swimming pools, foundations, reservoirs, basements, terraces, balconies, underground structures and tunnels, etc.;
-
Waterproofing under screeds and tiles;
-
Repair of old bitumen waterproofing.
Working procedure
Mixing of components
Component A is mixed with a drill equipped with a mixing paddle or a construction mixer until homogeneous, then Component B is added while mixing and mixed for 2–3 minutes. The mixed components must be used within 30 minutes. For partial application, use an A:B ratio of 100 : 13 by weight.
Application of polyurea
The material is poured onto the prepared surface in the form of puddles or strips, then distributed with a short-pile polymer roller, a spatula, or a rubber squeegee, observing the recommended consumption of 0.8–1.2 kg per 1 m² for a surface thickness of 1 mm (recommended layer 2 mm).
For waterproofing, 1 layer of polyurea with a thickness of 2 mm is sufficient, but in hazardous areas such as adjoining joints, expansion joints, etc., the material is recommended to be applied in two layers, reinforcing with non-woven material or construction polymer mesh. If swallowed or ingested: immediately call a doctor. Rinse the mouth with plenty of water (if the victim is conscious) and seek medical help.
Do not allow the product to enter sewers, water bodies, or soil. Transfer material residues to a hazardous waste collection point. If medical advice is required, have the packaging or label with markings ready.
Surface preparation
The surface of the base to which the polyurea is applied must be prepared: it must be even and cleaned of dust, dirt, oils, and debris. Particular attention should be paid to the moisture of the coating – it is not allowed to apply manual polyurea to a base with a moisture content of more than 6%. If the base moisture is high, the waterproofing coating may subsequently peel off and form bubbles. A wet bitumen base is dried with roof aerators to remove excess moisture.
Cracks and chips in the base must be filled. If the concrete base is loose and porous, it must be primed to reduce polyurea consumption and guarantee coating quality. We recommend using PU primers A1.USIN PU90 and A1.USIN PE440.
In the case of a bitumen base, it is necessary to thoroughly remove peeling areas. When applying polyurea to a glossy surface such as ceramic tiles, it is recommended to pre-prime such a surface followed by drying “to touch”.
When installing a roof waterproofing coating, it is recommended to pay special attention to joints and areas adjoining pipelines, ventilation shafts, etc. In these places, the old bitumen coating is removed down to the base, then the adjoining assembly is installed: 45° slopes are glued in, coated with polyurea, reinforced with non-woven tape, which is embedded in the polyurea.
